Guess I'm going wireless (well, mostly)

I've slowly gotten rid of the wires on my desk over the years.

For my desktop set up, at least.

For the longest time I was a stickler for using wired-only peripherals for my desktop computers. I guess growing up when everything still absolutely required a wire (and sometimes its own special physical port) took a toll on me. That is, until I got my first wireless speaker somewhere around 2016.

Around that time I had built my current gaming PC, and I learned that Bluetooth dongles were actually feasible for most things - unless you were going to spend big cash for a motherboard that had Bluetooth built-in at the time. So, I bought one and paired my speakers to the PC. Now I had sound without a wire! Occasionally I would use a wired headset, though.

A few years after that I stopped using wired controllers on my PC - using wireless Xbox controllers instead.

Few years ago I got my first wireless headset.

Sometime this year I got my first ever wireless mouse. I held out on a wireless mouse for so long because I was adamant I would suffer input lag, which would be unacceptable in online games where I wasn't using a controller. Well, I must say, that is no longer a problem. In fact, I feel my performance has improved - I can track even easier across the mouse pad now.

The only holdouts I have now are my monitor and keyboard. I plan on sticking with wired monitors for the foreseeable future. I haven't decided on a keyboard yet. I'm generally a fan of Corsair peripherals, but the last two mice I've had from them fell apart mechanically.

Now, the only thing that kind of sucks is when this stuff runs low on battery!
